How to...

As a h.i.t., I find I am learning a lot of things I didnt know before, courtesy of my friend google.  I mean whenever you want to find out how to do something you can just google it*or ask your mom, but isn't the other easier?*

In learning these things myself, I figured why not let you guys know too, lessen the steps*if anyone is reading* so how to was born, although in the future I may change the name and/or day, just bear with me please...

I needed to clean my shower curtain liner, it was not that expensive and I could go out and get another, but we don't have the funds for that and why waste gas*plus something else might catch my eye and then the whole trip is pointless..target*

So looking up how to clean your shower curtain there are number of ways to do it.

1. You can clean it with other HAND towels in the washing machine, with bleach and detergent*the bleach gets the mildew off and the detergent cleans it, while the hand towels brush the dirt and mildew off.  Sounds gross I know but it really works people!

2. Another way to clean them is to add vinegar to the washing machine with the towels and use a cold water cycle to clean the soap scum.

3. And lastly, you can fill your tub up with warm water and add 1 cup of baking soda and wash it there or in the washer, you don't need the towels for this wash.

Most important of all, do not put a plastic liner in the dryer, hang it outside if its warm or hang it up in the shower and aim the hot water at it to release the wrinkles.

First year...

You hear a lot of people tell you the first year is the hardest and blah blah blah.  Well sometimes it is actually true.  Especially in our case.  We felt that we wanted to do things at least semi-right, so we decided not to live together before we got married.  Believe me our very southern parents were very pleased about the whole concept.  If they only knew.

For financial purposes and because I love him so, I lived with my dad and he with his mom.  But we were right down the street from each other and it worked! Amazingly!

When the time came for us to move in, we looked at it as some great magical thing.  Of course I knew some of his quirks and he knew mine, but I tell you the first couple of months weeks are um shall we say a learning experience.

I won't get too detailed, but laying in the bed and finding crumbs there is not the most pleasant experience.

I have to say I wouldn't trade that first year for nothing.

Thoughts for the day...

What should I try and create for dinner?

Is it weird that I have the air conditioner on, but my personal heater is on too?

I would really, really like to start a family now*looking angrily at husby*

I am so not in the mood to clean up anything....or cook....

Have a great weekend!!!

Great Giveaway!!!

Okay this is new for me, but it is so freaking great that I have to tell about it.  Thrify decor chick is giving away a silhouette digital cutting tool, which makes any kind of decorating so much easier, especially since you don't have to buy any cartridges.  Awesome right?

Well check out her blog, she also does some a-mah-zing things with home decor, some of which includes a major redue of her kitchen,  the entire site is a feast for the eyes.....check out the link here

Southern Delight

I am a stay at home wife or what some southerners call a homemaker, whatever you want to call it;I call it unemployed and bored.  Yes sometimes I do love being a housewife and sometimes I don't.  I miss the working world, especially when Husby gets up to go to work everyday.  But I love being there when he gets home, whether food is on the table or not(more times not) sorry mom!

But I get rather bored sitting at home, so I spend a lot of time reading blogs, mainly married blogs, decorating blogs, party blogs, wedding blogs, I could go on and on really, but I won't.  Hopefully I will do better at this blog than others.  I love learning the art of being a homemaker (for now) and being married!
